crockin' beans

I almost always use canned beans. The only brand that I usually avoid is " Ranch

Style. " I have found that their beans are usually broken.

 

When I cook with canned beans, I always drain and rinse them. I discard the

liquid. It is usually full of sugars that cause gas, and most of the salt will

be in the liquid too.

dinner sunday was soysage, kale, and potato casserole; dinner last night was

spaghetti squash with brocolli and not-meatballs.

 

i really like the heirloom beans from westbrae naturals-- scarlet runners,

trout beans, etc. make really good tortilla soup!

I love chickpeas dried or canned:) My favorite canned vegetable is spinach

though:) It's a little mushy coming from the can but still very good and not at

all that salty. I like canned beets also.
