Guest guest Posted June 23, 2004 Report Share Posted June 23, 2004 Mind you i have not tried this recipe yet myself, but it seems very straightforward and easy. i just saw it recently while looking through one of my Taste of Home cookbooks. Give it a try. Mozzarella Sticks 2 eggs 1 Tbs. water 1 cup dry read crumbs 2 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/8 tsp. pepper 12 sticks string cheese 3 Tbs. All-purpose flour 1 Tbs. butter or margarine, melted 1 cup marinara or spaghetti sauce, heated In a small bowl, beat eggs and water. In a plastic bag combine bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and pepper. Coat cheese sticks in flour, then dip in egg mixture and bread crumb mixture. Repeat egg and bread crumb coatings. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight. Pace on an ungreased cookie sheet; drizzle with melted butter. Bake, uncovered, at 400û for 6 to 8 minutes or until heated through. Allow to stand for 3 to 5 minutes before serving. Use marinara sauce for dipping.
