Guest guest
This is a really nice side dish. Smells great while it bakes, too. Parmesan Onion Bake 6 medium onions, sliced 1 cup diced celery 8 Tbs butter or margarine, divided 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp salt 1/8 to 1/4 tsp pepper 1 1/2 cups milk 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup chopped pecans In a large skillet, saute the onion and celery in 3 tablespoons of the butter until tender; drain and set aside. In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter; stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Pour over onion mixture; toss to coat. Pour into a greased 2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and pecans. Bake uncovered, at 350û for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated through. Yield: 6 to 8 servings. ~ PT ~ Each day is a little life; every waking and rising a little birth; every fresh morning a little youth; every going to rest and sleep a little death. ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
