Well, I wouldn't do that. I would just suggest to use it in moderation if at

all. One thing that I learned and I have been digging around trying to locate

this info once again is that this substitute is actually counter productive to

losing weight and can add on the pounds when trying to lose them.

 

I used to be all about SPLENDA, but gave it up and decided to go back sugar if I

want sweet. fortunately I am not a big sweet tooth, so I can take it or leave

it. My reason for using the SPLENDA was always to avoid the sugar on the teeth.

 

I didn't like how SPLENDA made feel. I am not sure as I could never put my

finger on it but it was a hollow kind of feel - very unnatural. now even if I

chew sugar free gum, I am aware of that same feeling again.

 

For me personally I can't see how either formaldehyde or chlorine in these forms

could possibly do the body good.

 

I will say though, as far as flavor is concerned SPLENDA is the best substitute

I have tried.

Well, then maybe I should suggest she switch to Aspartame instead of using her

Splenda anymore. Of course she told me that Aspartame products contain

fermaldahide which is what they preserve you with when you die. I hope I spelled

that word right hehehe:) In any case, which is worse? Chlorine or embalming

fluid?

The formaledehyde metabolism of asparatme is an urban legend not supported by

research. However, sucralose is a chlorocarbon on its own. You can look up the

effects of chlorocarbons on the body.

 

When sucralose is sold as " Splenda " , it is mixed witrh dextrose and/or

maltodextrin- two carbohydrate sweeteners which will escalate blood sugar.

Sucralose alone also escalates blood sugar, despite industry claims to the

contrary. One of my closest friends is diabetic, and her doctor has instructed

her to avoid Splenda, because it affects her blood sugar strongly.

 

I've used Splenda in the past, but nowadays I use stevia. It's the sweetest

natural substance known to man, and preliminary tests in Europe show that it

actually has positive effects on blood sugar.

My stevia came today. :D going to use it in my bitters! actually i got all my

herbs, roots, and bark today. :D

Donna,

 

This is a good list to have. I mostly run across wine in recipes and sub

similiar to these subs. I notice tequila in some recipes on this forum. What

do you recommend for subs for tequila? Do you just drink it down and forget to

sub? ( I know you like to cook with it ) Since this is a veggie group, what do

you do with the worm? :>)
