this might appear twice cause it didn't work the first time. feral,

cactus has a nice solid fleshy consistency. I cant describe the

flavor but I like it. I got the site wrong its http://embasa.com

they have some recipes. I personally either eat them straight or add

them to a salad or to a rice dish. try em I hope you like them. they

have embasa foods in most markets. I never tried fresh cactus pads

and I dont know if I would like them that much.

heres a description,

Nopalitos - Cactus, or Nopal, is a typical sight in the Mexican

landscape. It is not strange that it should find its way into the

local cuisine. The use of Nopalitos has its origins in the Roman

Catholic observance of serving meatless dishes during Lent; now they

are a part of everyday cooking. The paddle, or tender pads, of the

plant (called prickly pear in the U.S.) are eaten as a green

vegetable in Mexico. Embasa selects only the best young shoots and

packs them fresh, not pickled or preserved. Sliced for convenience,

their use lends itself to a variety of dishes, such as traditional

nopalitos salad. Combined with seafood, omelets, quiches, and

casseroles, nopalitos adds a delicious and authentic flair. this is

from the site. stay cool, Dave
