Yes, that sounds wonderful but it would end up with my kids all fighting over who was going to light the candles or who could blow them out....then knocking over the drinks all over the table and if I'm lucky the dishes don't get broken. That is if the cats or other critters doesn't beat them to it! Oh, and don't forget the phone needs to ring about the time you put the first hot bite of food in your mouth! Aahhhh, life can be so interesting LOL! Robin in NC
Guest guest
I love those basic evening meals of spaghetti, pizza, or soups. As long as the dish is prepared with love and served at a nicely set dining table with candles lit, it can't get any better.... Last night I made a recipe out of Linda McCartney's cookbook 'Linda's Kitchen' called Macaroni Special; pg. 93. Anyway, it was just a different version of macaroni and cheese that was dressed up with leeks and some sliced mushrooms on top. I accidentally told the kids it was called Macaroni Surprise when they asked what we were having for dinner, and they had fun joking about what the surprise in it might be; they've come to know from experience that with my cooking it could be almost anything! *lol* But I digress, the point is even basic macaroni and cheese can be exciting with everyone gathered around the table enjoying the meal and eachother's company. ~ feral ~ Aengus is a deathless comrade of the Spring, and we may well pray to him to let his green fire move in our veins. ~ Fiona MacLeod, " The Birds of Aengus Og " ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~> replying to this post: rwhitt1212 Re: Re: Just for fun: roll call Haven't had anything exciting for dinner the last couple nights. Spaghetti one night, olive pizza the next. I did have some wonderful Bruchetta (sp) for lunch with some Lentil soup. It was from a new Italian rest that just opened in town. I'm always looking for new ideas to fix. I get tired of trying to come up with different things. We still have meat eaters in the house so I have to fix things that I can work with to make everyone happy. Robin in NC
