Guest guest
Hello, I am new and per the email I received when Approved here is a little about me. My name is Devan Pander and I am currently 36, happily married with one child of my own and two non resident step children. I have been a vegetarian since 1987 and I am 180 lbs. People seem to think weight and vegetarianism do not go together but I am proof they are wrong. LOL As far as my diet, I do not cook but have a wonderful husband (non veggie but only eats fowl. I'm working on him.) who will make me dishes if I see a recipe I just have to try. I am totally into convenience foods. Back in '87 the options were ok, but not nearly as nice as what is one the market now. You don't even have to go to a health food store! There is stuff right there in Kroger! Though I must say I do enjoy shopping at Harry's and Whole Foods very much! I do not drink Milk or eat eggs, it just makes me ill to think about it. I will eat eggs in something on occasion but I prefer they be cage free organic. It's a denial thing, if it isn't in it's true form I don't think about it I guess. I never touch milk under any circumstances. I do, however eat cheese. A lot of it. (rennet and enzyme free of course) I run a small (underfunded) but rewarding animal rescue group in addition to my full time job. I converted an area of my home, with hubbies help (reluctantly at first) as my 'shelter'. I end up spending far more of my own money than I should. I should really find out about applying for a grant of some sort! That pretty much sums me up. The most important things in my life are my husband, my daughter, animals of all kinds and types, animal welfare and rights, living cruelty free, eating organically and being a vegetarian. Not necessarily in that order. *grin* Devan K. Pander - www.humanefriends.org " Human beings are not natural carnivores. When we kill animals to eat them, they end up killing us because their flesh, which contains cholesterol and saturated fat, was never intended for human beings, who are natural herbivores.
