Guest guest
I was vegetarian when I discovered that the Vitamin D (aka lanolin) in 8th Continent was from wool fat...I thought that was SO disgusting and didn't seem very vegetarian to me so I immediately stopped using it. I understand that vegetarians eat and use animal by-products but I myself just could not deal with the idea of taking in a by-product of a sheep. When I went vegetarian the only by-product I used was cheese. No milk as a drink or in cooking...no eggs...no leather...silk..wool....etc. Guess I was just in a different mindset so I apologize for stating that 8th Continent is not vegetarian when I guess in the general sense it is, it is just not vegan. Did that clear it up for you? -Kimberly Message: 25 Mon, 22 Mar 2004 21:38:59 -0800 (PST) reptile grrl Re: 8TH Continent Soymilk If that were the case, then it could be vegetarian- just not vegan. However, if that were the case, wouldn't that lanolin be listed in the ingredient list? It's not on that list- unless it's under " natural and artificial flavors. " Lanolin has a rather strong smell, though- it would be hard to hide. WHile 8th continent does taste too beany for me, it doesn't taste or smell woolly.
