Guest guest
hi, I'm not sure if this was already done or not but here it is. this uses tvp so measurements may vary depending on what brand you use. in this particular recipe, I like the kind where you use equal parts tvp and cold water. so here goes: 1 pkg lawrys taco seasoning and water they ask you to use between 1/2 and 2/3 cup tvp 3/4 cup water(I always like to use more water than it says and drain off the extra) corn tortillas oil for frying ok, reconstitute the tvp according to directions. the taco mix will say a pound of ground beef and the reason for a definite smaller amount of tvp is cause there is no sodium or flavor in the tvp and if you make an equivalent of a pound, you will have some very blah tacos lol. after the mix is reconstituted, drain off any excess water. then quickly brown the tvp mixture so it picks up some oil. after that add the taco seasoning and the water it says and cook according to pkg directions or til you cook out all liquid. then make your tacos. one note here you might have to settle for the tvp where you add boiling water to but its basically the same and just adjust measurements accordingly. ejoy. stay cool, Dave
