Fact is, we need no permission to use images or anything else

Where, exactly, did I express any disapproval or bitterness? Any disapproving

or bitter attitude is projection on your part.

 

As I said, the frontispiece to the group is no longer under copyright

protection. However, the belief that using copyrighted images without

permission is legal as long as they are not used for profit is a commonly held,

but incorrect belief. If a work is protected by copyright, publishing it (as

in, on a web page) without the permission of the copyright holder is illegal,

whether you are making a profit or not.
