Guest guest Posted February 29, 2004 Report Share Posted February 29, 2004 so i went to one of my favourite restaurants over the weekend; it's this great vietnamese vegetarian place in huntington beach (in the los angeles area). they make a vegan flan (you know, the custard-y base with the caramel topping), and i can't for the life of me figure out how to duplicate it. i'm guessing the base would be some combination of silken tofu, agar-agar, and sugar, and the topping would be melted brown sugar. in any case, i wanted to let you know i've got my experimenting hat on, and i'll let you know if i hit upon something good. in the meantime, if anyone else has any ideas, feel free to throw 'em at me... melody http://www.melodysmusic.net Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
