Guest guest Posted February 21, 2004 Report Share Posted February 21, 2004 BLACK BOTTOM BANANA BARS (Yield: 2 1/2 dozen) 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour 1/4 cup cocoa powder Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat thoroughly. Beat in bananas. Add flour; mix well. Divide the dough in half. Add cocoa powder to one half; mix well. Spread cocoa batter into prepared baking pan. Spoon remaining batter on top and swirl with a knife. I'll have to take some into work so I don't end up eating them all...
