Guest guest
Hi s.c.Dave. This recipe sounds wonderful and I think it is very cool that the meateaters you've served it to were impressed. I do have a question. What is just like ground? Is it a brand name for a vegetarian mince that is similar to Yves brand ground round? Guest guest
yeah PT I think its something like that or very similar. any precooked ground crumbles type will work. even that gimme lean will work too you would just have to cook it up more since that is supposed to be like raw ground meat. it doesn't have to be any exact brand just so it doesn't have any added flavorings such as italian or mexican cause then it would take away from the chilli flavoring. hope you enjoy. stay cool, Dave
Guest guest
That's what I was thinking. There is also one called " gimme lean " that is pretty good too. They come in a couple styles one is more 'burger' like and the other is more 'sausage' like. Guest guest
I will have to keep a look-out for the Gimme Lean brand. I have been wanting to try a more sausage ground veggie mix. I have heard that MSF sells a version that Gene (one of our members) has mentioned his family uses and enjoys. I haven't been able to find anything except for the burger flavor crumbles around where I live. I am quite vocal and do put in special request forms for items in the grocery stores where I shop, but thus far the success of that effort is very hit and miss. ~ PT ~ Once freedom lights its beacon in a man's heart, the gods are powerless against him. ~ Jean-Paul Sartre ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~> , " Scott Turner " <sturner@t...> wrote: > That's what I was thinking. Guest guest
I agree! They do have a nice flavor. It is a very versatile product. BTW, welcome to the group, Robyn.
