Guest guest
You got that right, Scott...you are lucky/blessed! Being with an omnivore is challenging. You can't blame them for loving us...we just taste better! *lol* It takes a lot of mutual tolerance. Had I to do it over again, I would hold out for a vegetarian man... but we have been together since 1979 as a couple; married since 1987! I wasn't a real vegetarian until later... I started out as a pesca-pollotarian, then went lacto-ovo later on. Good thing he likes vegetarian food! ~ PT ~ We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey. ~ Miyazawa Kenji ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~> , " Scott Turner " <sturner@t...> wrote: > Funny I was just thinking the same thing. I think it's wild how many people on this list have non-veg spouses/significant others. my fiancé is veggie and I am vegan, and that is about as big a dietary difference as I can deal with (in a relationship that is) ;-). fortunately for me Nicole is almost vegan and only cooks vegan (by chance, she isn't crossing this far over). > > I guess I am pretty lucky. > > Scott
Guest guest
Hey everyone just thought I would add my two cents about nonveg mates.....when I married my hubby he was not a veggie....and to be honest ...it was horriable....I didnt like the fact that I was forced to watch him eat flesh. It was heartbreaking to be and was really a start of alot of fights. But I stayed strong and I refused to have meat, cook meat or buy meat for years. Then when my first child was born....we had tiffs after tiffs about the kids being vegetarian. Becuase there was no way I was going to feed flesh to my kids. How we dealt with it was that I was able to state my case to my kids , as was he...he offered when we were out....and I presented them with a flesh free life.....BUT with the kids they refused meat on their on accord (small victory for mom lol) they never ever liked it....so with myself and my three children looking at my hubby as if he was eating dirt....disgusted and the whole thing....I am happy to say he is noe vegetarian , and has been for a year and half! We are now on our way to being a VEGAN family, him the leader in that move! So my point is that sometimes it just takes time for them to see what their doing, maybe if you stay strong, suppling them with tons of info, maybe things will change?
