Guest guest
i tried this recipe yesterday, and could not believe how good it was!!! it was a big hit with my dinner guests. plus, it is so cheap and easy to make, and quite healthful! i served it with a baby spinach salad (baby spinach, carrots, artichoke hearts, and garbanzo beans), and made my famous (and also very easy) mocha pie, which is a pretty sinful dessert, but a nice once-in-a-while splurge. UNSALMON LOAF (from the simply heavenly! monastery cookbook) -1 cup tomato juice -1 cup water -1 cup soy flour -1 1/2 teaspoons onion salt (i used 1 tsp onion flakes and 1/2 tsp salt) -1 tablespoon oil (i used 1 teaspoon of safflower oil and it came out fine) *i added some garlic powder to this recipe, and next time i think i'll also add some dill and lemon zest. whirl everything in a blender until smooth and pour into an oiled baking dish (i used a small loaf pan). bake at 400 degrees farenheit until a tan crust forms (about 40 min). cool and turn onto a platter. serve hot or cold. melody's mocha pie -1 pie crust of your choice (i usually make my own, but i was in a hurry, so i used arrowhead mills' chocolate cookie pie crust-- highly recommended!!) -chocolate chips (for a less decadent pie, use half a bag or less; for a very sinful pie, use the whole gosh-darn bag!!) -mocha-flavoured pudding (since i was in a rush, i used the oetker organics mocha pudding mix, but you can also make it pretty easily from scratch-- just use your favourite chocolate or vanilla pudding recipe and add a small amount of instant coffee granules that have been dissolved in a small amount of water or soymilk) melt the chocolate chips using a double boiler, or simply put them in the microwave for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on how much you're using. spread the melted chocolate over the inside of the pie crust. pour the pudding over this, and let it set in the fridge or freezer. so simple, and so yummy!!! melody http://www.melodysmusic.net
