Guest guest
I will check at home when I get there but, I think that I still have the instruction book for my pressure cooker (stove top model as well). I don't remember the precise cooking times for the different beans but I remember the times in the book being really accurate. If I find it I'll be sure to post em. Cheers, Scott Denise [pamperedveggie] Friday, February 06, 2004 3:10 PM Re: Need supporting info~ be the change....and pressure cookers It's true, there were only two responses on the list, mine and Dave's. And we both kind of said the same thing. But after Pat's response there has been a slew of posts. A little bit of irony there. :-) I also believe that her post was not promoting a religious belief, as the pasts ones seemed to do, but was really trying to learn how other people deal with those types of questions. I've been asked very similar questions, once by a grocery clerk when reading to see if gelatin was in the sour cream. That's why I responded. Onto the pressure cooker topic. James introduced me to his, which is very old and a stove top cooker, and once I got past the fear factor I've really enjoyed it. We primarily use it for root vegetables, which is great if you're craving sweet potatoes but can't stand the wait. When we do use the quick release (ours we just take the little top thing off), we have to go outside because so much steam is released. If you use the cold water method, I would suggest letting it sit off the heat for a couple of minutes first, then taking it to the sink. I would love to try our cooker with beans, but haven't really experimented yet. Any suggestions, especially on the timing factor would be appreciated. cheers, Denise , " Feral " <terebinthus> wrote: > But this was over days ago, and nobody was > replying to it anymore. Guest guest
That would be wonderful of you to do that. We'd be sure to place it in the kitchen tips file.
