Guest guest
Actually I bet the pollution associated with meat and leather is far higher. Huge fecal waste volumes into rivers, consumption of electricity, and water -- I was astounded to read statistics like this one: March 1, 2001 -- To date, probably the most reliable and widely-accepted water estimate to produce a pound of beef is the figure of 2,500 gallons/pound. Newsweek once put it another way: " the water that goes into a 1,000 pound steer would float a destroyer. " (Detail at http://www.vegsource.com/articles/pimentel_water.htm ) Synthetics are as I understand it a refinement product of the oil and petroleum already in use, probably nowhere near as injurious, and natural materials like cotton are also pretty ecofriendly. God did not intend for you to wear animal skins, or He'd have left the skin off the animal and put it on you instead ;-) Check out things like the PETA FAQ page and the like. Questions are a good thing. , " l. a l j u w a i e " <aljuwaie@c...> wrote: > I am sorry to ask this here, I know I could do my own research but I'm > short on time at the moment and want a quick comeback to a question that > was posed to me: > > > > " I wonder what God intended for us to wear if not > animal cloth.
