Guest guest
Pat is right, if you eat them regularly they stop bothering you. Some people use Beano, and it seems to help. I have been adding some kind of cultured product to my beans and found it really works. Usually, I'll top them with a bit of yogurt. Apparently, eating beans with fruit or meat is the worst thing you can do, so avoid them. And try working your way up on them, adding them more as a side dish to start. Which reminds me.... Halle Berry was in the area filming the Catwoman. To help her lose weight and stay trim, she was drinking a lot of soy shakes. She had to wear a very form-fitting, glossy costume for the part. It seems she had a lot of problems with flatulence while doing various fight scenes, and they had to be redone quite a bit. Apparently, they had to puncture the suit in several places to hide the " billowing " . And we think we have problems. Donni - Sant & Brown Saturday, January 17, 2004 6:44 AM Beans Hi Phoenix ;=) Actually, not everyone's bod reacts so negatively (or do I mean positively?) to beans *lol* Admittedly, if you eat too many once in a while only, then you will perceive flatulence - as will everyone around you ;=( But if you eat them on a regular basis as part of your diet, they shouldn't cause any more problem than raw greens, say. Or maybe my bod and my dh's bod react differently to the norm. Best, Pat ;=) > No mater how much I boil, > pre-soak dried > beans, we'll get gas so bad that we have to air out the room on > an hourly basis -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ vegetarianslimming/ HOMEPAGE: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " There are too many idiots in this world.
