Notice, this site doesn't site any credible sources directly, it just links to pop health magazines which are not known for being scientifically accurate. It makes the point that no universities or fed government agencies have done research on the effects of microwaves. So where in the hell did all these supposed facts come from? Also, think about it logically. What a microwave essentially does is make water molecules in food move really fast, creating friction, heating your food. That's what heating is. a lot of things we use emit radiation. the computer you're using right now. Your tv. Cell phones. Granted you don't use these things to heat your food, but your oven / stove top are emitting radiation too. And look at this " The use of artificial microwave transmissions for subliminal psychological control, a.k.a. " brainwashing " , has also been proven. We're attempting to obtain copies of the 1970's Russian research documents and results written by Drs. Luria and Perov specifying their clinical experiments in this area. " This is a crock. No such subliminal psychological control mechanism has ever been " proven " . I'm a psych major and I never even heard this rumor. \if something this huge had ever been supported by real scientific evidence my professors would never shut up about it. What Dr. Mercola says about microwaving food destroying some nutrients is true. But it is every bit as true about cooking, period. That is why some people become raw foodists. Processing food can diminish some important nutrients and cooking is a process. Sorry but these health magazines aren't very reliable, mostly they just want to catch your eye which a horror story just like the news " something in your home right now will kill you! True enough, Dave! And despite that - and the 'dangers' of cooking over open flames (heavens, is nothing safe anymore?) - most of us still continue to cook most of our food ;=) and some of it in a microwave when convenient. It's important not to make every modern convenience an enemy, or one can never survive *emotionally* in the world we live in, I suspect. And for that emotional health it is soooo important not to be afraid of everything and not to believe every unsupported scaremongering article that comes across cyberspace.
