Guest guest
OMG yes, we ALL have similar experiences. Ignorance knows no bounds, and many people will mock and attack what they don't know about, vegetarianism being a big one. I very often fall back on saying either " For heath reasons, " or " Because of my allergies " when asked why I'm vegetarian. That usually shuts the idiots off, and both are generally true. I mean, it is heathier for me, and I am allergic to murdering animals, etc. Also, the bullshit about protein is easy -- ask them to name a food that isn't protein. All food has protein. There is nothing magical about meat sources. Want a so-called " complete " protein? Eat beans and rice. Any combination of legume and grain usually does it. Just tell them to have a handful of mixed nuts & seeds now and then and you're covered.
