Guest guest
The holidays are such a busy time with family around. I have only barely had time to check my emails and sort & skim through the digests! But today I have a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle, so I plan to READ the digests and post. I hope everyone had a marvelous Yuletide holiday and are preparing for Hogmanay (New Years). Interesting to see how the US government and news reporting agencies are handling the recent mad cow press releases. I always wonder what isn't being said and the truths we aren't being told to protect the beef industry. This sort of news makes me more convinced that I am following the right path. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and fixing themselves and the ones they love delicious vegetarian food. Did anyone get a new kitchen gadget for xmas? Guest guest
You are right. They are not being truthful due to the pressure they are getting from the big money powers in factory farming corporations. They would rather hedge their bets that not too many folks will get sick from the mad cow beef instead of officially warning the people or giving them clear cut guidelines to follow when selecting or finding out where the beef they purchase is coming from. They simply do not keep track and in truth that beef and bi-products from it could be anywhere by now. They are obviously lying about the contamination risks as well. We all have read the article posted here about the lad in the UK, who was raised a vegetarian, and died of mad cow. He confessed he tried a bit of beef and might have also eaten some bi-product containing items, such as geletin, since he had moved out on his own. But that report was proof enough to me that one needn't eat very much meat to expose themselves to this life-threatening illness. ~ PT ~ The secret of life is concentration. ~ Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~> , " artichoke72x " < artichoke72x> wrote: > i keep reading that the meat from the cow with mad cow > is ok to eat, that only the brain, spinal cord, and > intestines carry the disease and as long as those > parts aren't eaten, everything is ok. that just > doesn't seem right to me. and if that is the case, > why have so many countries banned the import of us > beef? i don't think the gov't and it's agencies are > being truthful to the american people.
