Guest guest
The Wild Oats near me makes a fabulous tofu salad called " Tokoyo Tofu " . I'd REALLY love to make this at home, rather than paying an arm and a leg for it. I've checked their website, but nothing even remotely similar is in their recipe files. Does anyone have a good " fake " recipe I could try? (Oh, if you don't have a Wild Oats near you, it's strips of tofu and julienne'd carrots in a soy/ginger/etc sauce. The tofu is a fabulous texture too, and I've never managed to get mine nice and chewy like that, rather than rubbery.) -- Sherri Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much. - Oscar Wilde
Guest guest
i don't know if this at all what you're looking for, but there's this brand called " simply add veggies " that sells a few varieties of tofu (it usually says fake chicken or steak but it the has the nice chewy texture i think you're talking about)/ pasta, and seasonings then you add whatever vegetables you like. there's oriental, terriaki, cacciatore.. possibly more. I've seen it in several of the regular grocery stores around here, usually in or near the produce section. it's pretty good and they're all vegan. , Sherri <sherria@o...> wrote: > The Wild Oats near me makes a fabulous tofu salad called " Tokoyo Tofu " . > I'd REALLY love to make this at home, rather than paying an arm and a > leg for it.
