Guest guest
On other forums where the members are generally a lot less courteous than this one I hear about " militant " or " preachy " vegans all of the time. This is usually used to describe someone who said something like " I'm a vegan. " or " Vegans don't eat fish. " In Chuck Palahniuk's novel " Lullaby " there's a good example of this stereotype; a vegan character gets all pissed at someone who unknowingly got something with worchestershire sauce in it. (I don't know what to make of us; the author used to be a vegan). Also, once while at a job interview I noticed that once the interviewee before me mentioned he was vegan and the manager basically asked whether he would be tempted to tell people not to eat it. I will also hear (from meat-eaters) who claim that vegans are " always " attacking lacto-ovo vegetarians... which somehow is used to justify their eating meat.
