Hola Megan....hope you are doing well! I noticed the above awhile back and

have since been curious about the seitan pastrami recipe/season/experiment.

Was it a brand of seitan pastrami or did you make homemade seitan into a

pastrami Flavored substitute...what was the recipe? If you get a minute or

two, I'd like to hear what that was all about. TIA for any info.!

Cheers,

S.

Oh...did the season rub turn out to be a pretty good buy? Thanks.

This was a barley salad recipe I pulled off the top of my head when i had

soem leftover veggies & cooked barley to use up.

Megan

(SOMETHING) BARLEY SALAD

2 cups cooked barley

1 medium yellow squash (zucchini-type), chopped

2 roma tomatoes, chopped

1-1/2 teaspoons sesame oil

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

2 t. to 1 T of Whole Foods Toronto Steak & Chicken Rub (*)

Mix together cooked barley, chopped squash & tomatoes & rub seasoning in a

bowl. In a small cup, whisk together sesame oil and balsamic vinegar & pour

over the salad. Mix thorougly.

(*) The Steak & chicken rub is a spice blend I bought at Whole Foods Market

sold under their 365 store brand. I'm just experimenting with it in a

seitan pastrami recipe i'm making, and thought i'd see how it went in a

salad. You can approximate your own. The ingredients list in the Rub says

" black pepper, (granulated) garlic, sea salt, dill (seed), coriander, and

chili peppers (chili flakes most likely).
