Guest guest
This is really good and has a flavor way better than any of those store-bought cheese ball items you find during the holidays. I sure would enjoy a recipe for a port wine cheese ball if anyone has a tried and true version of that. I also have one that has a tex-mex flare, but will have to look it up in my recipe index cards as I don't think I have ever typed it to the computer yet. Holiday Cheese Ball 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 Tbs finely chopped onion 1 Tbs diced pimentos 1 Tbs diced green pepper 2 tsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp lime juice Chopped pecans, toasted Assorted crackers In a mixing bowl combine the first seven ingredients; mix well. Form into two balls and roll in the toasted pecans. Cover and chill. Remove from the refrigerator 15 minutes before serving. Serve with assorted crackers. Yield: 2 cheese balls ( about 1 1/2 cups each) ~ pt ~ Still round the corner there may wait, A new road, or a secret gate. - J. R. R.
