Bah, Cornflakes.....Gruel Rocks!!

Hmmmm, I think the primary reason that cereal is fortified is because

the grains have been processed to the extreme and the

vitamins/minerals have been obliterated. Given North Americans'

preference for highly processed foods, there are probably regulations

stipulating manufacturers to add the nutrients to certain foods (if

you can call them that!) - children developing Beri-Beri from eating

Lucky Charms is not a good thing.

 

Now oatmeal...there's a real food! I agree with you, PT - after I

finish my coffee, I think a bowlful of oaty goodness will be a

perfect start to my morning :).
