Guest guest
ack! i pressed " send " by accident! in any case, as i was saying, all diets work. they work because they usually get the dieter to eat fewer calories than (s)he was eating before. the problem is, a lot of those diets are unbalanced and unsustainable. because of this, most people will not stay on the diet, will jump back to their old way of eating (or move on to the next diet) and will yo-yo back and forth to their old weight and then some. very low calorie diets force your body's fat burning system (metabolism) to slow down, as it thinks you are starving and wants to hold on to all the fat it can. your metabolism is not as easy to increase as it is to decrease, so when you get off the diet, you will gain back all your weight, and then gain even more. don't even get me started on atkins. ugh. the smartest thing to do, instead of going with the " easy way out " (which, as it turns out, is not so easy), is to make a healthy lifestyle eating plan. i've printed the formula for this on this list in the past, but if you'd like for me to do it again, i'm more than happy to. also, make sure you are lifting weights (2-3 times per week, non-consecutive days). every pound of muscle you gain burns 35-55 extra calories per day! try to get at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise per day. if time is an issue, you can split that up into 3 10-minute sessions if need be. let me know if you'd like me to elaborate on any of the above. best of luck to you! melody http://www.melodysmusic.net
