Guest guest
you can take issue with it all you want, but I must question where you are getting your info from? Most of what I said is not something you would hear about on the news. I only know of one news story in which a vegetarian girl told them about how she was force fed meat. Alicia silverstone also briefly mentioned her experiences in these clinics on that carson daily show. Everything else I have heard either from people who have been in these clinics or accounts from people who have been on these clinics on the some of the so- called " pro-anarexia " pages. Now, I'm sure that the clinics would love to say that you can't trust anything that they say, because the patients are mentally ill and would say anything to avoid getting treatment, etc. but this claim seems illogical to me. These websites were created by people with eating disorders to meet other people who have been through the same thing... They don't intend for people w/o eating disorders to visit their site. Of course, some of us are interrested, so we check it out anyway. I have learned about the symptoms and etiology of eating disorders in abnormal psych class and your description of these is accurate. But what I have claimed about some clinics force feeding people meat appears to be true. and that sort of treatment is not going give them a healthy body image. What they consider healthy for a recovering anarexic is not what is considered healthy for a normal person. Perhaps my use of the word " obese " was drastic, but overweight would be accurate.
