Guest guest
uh-oh we're not supposed to talk about that on this forum... too political. you should probably carry this to the off topic FT forum... but um, last i heard president bush's approval rating was relatively high, depsite that many americans seem to have mixed feelings about the war. this is because whenever there is controversy over govt action, the white house denies blame for it. " 9/11 was the FBI's fault, the misinformation about WMD in Iraq was the CIA's fault, and the failed diplomacy in Iraq was the UN's fault " anything else, just blame France. When Bush was asked about a sign posted on the navy ship he parachuted onto which read " Mission accomplished " , and whether his celebration of a victory in Iraq was premature, Bush said something like " The navy put up that sign because there mission was accomplished. I had nothing to do with it " Apparently whenever the military makes a mistake, their commander-in-chief has nothing to do with it. Most regular Americans are probably against the war (or would be) because they don't benefit from it, unfortunately they don't get a say because corporate oil tycoons control everything from news stations to the politicians themselves. Guest guest
Hey Dave, I like your whole take on this . I don't want to go into off topic subjects here, but have you read any Derrick Jensen? If not, you might look for " The Culture of Make Believe " . I think you'd really like it. ~Nita - dave Tuesday, November 04, 2003 1:31 PM Re: What to know, what do others- OT uh-oh we're not supposed to talk about that on this forum... too political. you should probably carry this to the off topic FT forum... but um, last i heard president bush's approval rating was relatively high, depsite that many americans seem to have mixed feelings about the war. this is because whenever there is controversy over govt action, the white house denies blame for it.
