Guest guest
Shawn, You mentioned that chefs on tv never brown garlic. I wonder why, like if they think it takes away the flavor or what. Guess that's why they're always roasting garlic. Speaking of which, easy and delicious garlic bread is to roast a head of garlic, then cut off the top, rub it on bread, then toast. MMmmm. LoL: >They goofed on the Atkin dieters because of how much they > preach and talk about the dern thing. IT'S TRUE! THEY DO! They aint losing weight because of the diet...they're losing it because they spend so much time talking about it, they don't have time to EAT!!. Atkins dieters kinda remind me of Straight Edge folks, at least in their determination to convince you to follow suit. It seems ridiculous to me...it's healthy, I'm losing weight.. " I've eaten bacon, sausage, and a beef jerky and it's not even noon yet. " Since when have saturated fats EVER been healthy?? karen

They always warn not to brown it because it gives it a " bitter " flavor (yah whateva I love it)....and to heat it in oil not butter because that will brown it (same as onions...they'll brown and not sweat properly in butter). I love getting the tips and learning from some of the shows but it boils (uh yah bad pun) down to the results of the cooking methods whether they be my intention or not...**shrugs** Guess that's why > they're always roasting garlic. > Speaking of which, easy and delicious garlic bread is to roast a head > of garlic, then cut off the top, rub it on bread, then toast. MMmmm. oh muh goodness yes...what an awesome idear! I actually roasted them once over a charcoal grill awhile back and it was pretty DERN good (though messy). Oh, they have this great garlic Texas Toast that i've gotten once at the grocery store in the frozen section....not very healthy but really gooood! lol. > > Atkins dieters kinda remind me of Straight Edge folks, at least in > their determination to convince you to follow suit. I think they get a kick out of it, because they feel like they are getting away with murder (ok really no pun there meant but hey!). They are " losing " weight by eating very fatty foods (meats) which they absolutely loved in the first place (don't they feel sluggish, it's like eating a vat of circulatory nastiness, lol). I guess that's why they are so giddy about the whole mess. Kinda like a kid eatin ice-cream, drinkin cola and chewing gum balls all day!! woowoo!!
