Guest guest
The Green Planet, Damn It! Festival 2002 What is it?: A festival focusing on Public Lands Issues especially Endangered Forests. Includes workshops, trainings, panels, regional meetings, organization and campaign fairs, poetry readings, film fests, live music by some incredible indie bands, nationally renowned speakers, nature hikes, and a vegan dinner on the grass. Who is it?: Several environmental, animal rights, social justice, anarchist and cultural organizations, renowned activists and environmentalists like Julia Butterfly Hill and Lou Gold , Indie bands like Orchards and Vines, independent local booksellers and record labels and student activists from around the country. This festival is organized and run by Grinnell College Free The Planet!, and Iowans for a Wild and Free America. Where Is It?: Grinnell College and Town, Iowa When Is it:? October 4th- 6th Does it Cost Anything?: Registration Costs $22.00(no one will be turned away due to lack of funds) which covers all events at the festival. A portion of the money raised through registration, merchandise and donations will go to selected organizations to further grassroots projects and campaigns. Where Will I Stay? Your registration packet (which you'll get by mail) will include a listing of hotels, motels, B & B's in Grinnell and surrounding towns as well as in Des Moines and Iowa City. Of coarse if you're tight on funds a friendly Grinnellian will possibly offer a bed, probably a couch and definitely a floor to sleep on (bring a sleeping bag). So I'm like totally interested. What do I do now?: Email: nagamats and include the following information: Name: College/ University: Campus group(if applicable): Address: Phone Number(optional): Email: Also feel free to pass this email on to whoever you think might be intersted. If you want to help publicize in your state let me know and I'll send out some extra materials. Hope to See You in October!!! Peace, Sequoia UNLESS someone like you cares a whole lot, its not going to get better. It's not. - Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
