I don't know whether or not this is true where you live, but around these parts, hebe is a nasty word for a Jew (like the " n " word for an African American). (Reread that excerpt thinking of it from that perspective and you'll understand jojo's concern) Debbie Eh? where was the typo? I'm talking about the flowering shrub hebes... And have indeed managed to kill a few, mainly through forgeting to water them... But on the whole they tolerate neglect pretty well, and would proabaly be a pretty good contender in a garden that is visited by a rampant 4 year old neighbour such as fraggles....
