Guest guest
My Eldest cousin who is just two years older than me (I am 55 years of age)has smoked unfortunately for many years, has just recently been diagnosed with throat cancer. I have been told that he will probably have a " voice box " fitted. This is sad news indeed to hear. I myself as a child lived in a house where both parents smoked. As a teenager I was given a cigarette to try by a friend, which I did, but thought to myself thankfully, what do people see in this. I never took up the habit, neither did my sister. My brother (who is 9 years younger than me)unfortunately did and has smoked for years. My father died of lung cancer, which was an awful experience for us as a family to witness, and so terribly sad for my father. I see so many young people smoking - what lies ahead for them I wonder! My son and his wife do not fortunately smoke, and my two grandchildren just dislike the smell of smoke so much - thank goodness. Anyway, we are all obviously concerned with regard to my cousin's welfare. Time alone will tell. Geraldine
