Please help us leaflet Wednesday night at the Michael Pollan talk in Campbell.

This Wednesday (January 27)

Time: 6:45 PM we begin leafleting

Location: In front of Campbell Heritage Theatre, 1 W. Campbell Ave., Campbell

(at the corner of Winchester Blvd.)

Map:

http://maps.google.com/maps? & q=1+West+Campbell+Avenue,+Campbell,+CA & ll=37.288,-1\

21.95 & spn=0.01,0.014 & pw=2

This will be a friendly informational leafleting, not a protest. We will be

handing out vegan/vegetarian literature (non-vegans please participate!).

Leaflets will be provided. This site is public property and we are perfectly

free to leaflet there. The current weather forecast for Wednesday night

predicts good weather (relatively warm, with almost no chance of rain).

After leafleting, many of us will go inside and hear the talk. It is free and

open to the public.

SILICON VALLEY READS 2010: MICHAEL

POLLAN<http://newsletter.commonwealthclub.org:82/t/7719/144797/3088/0/>

2010 Silicon Valley Reads: One Book, One Community Kickoff Event

Michael Pollan, Author, The Ominvore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food

Mike Cassidy, Columnist, San Jose Mercury News

According to Pollan, the advent of " nutritionism " has vastly complicated how

Americans see food, without doing very much for our health. Nutritionism arose

to deal with genuine issues - addressing chronic diseases such as obesity,

diabetes and many cancers - but now seems to be obscuring and perpetuating the

real problems of the American diet, says Pollan. His opening manifesto is

simple: " Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. " Learn how living by this

deceptively simple advice could immensely improve your life.
