Location: Stanford University, in the Dining Room at the Bechtel International Center. Free food: a delicious vegan meal will be served with the film, with vegan pumpkin gnocchi and tiramisu. Time: 7 pm for the film, or 6:30 if you'd like to help make food. Presented by ARF! (Animal Rights on the Farm). Danny Elstein of ARF! is happy for us to disseminate this info here. You are invited; hope to see you there! Synopsis of film: Through a series of humorous and poignant interviews conducted across the US and in Greece with " random people, " the documentarian's family, and activists, " Seeing through the Fence " explores attitudes about the role of food in modern society and our connection, or lack of connection, with both the processes and animals from which our food originates, asking the question, " What prevents ethical principles from being advanced to action? " For a trailer (preview) of the film, see: http://www.youtube.com/porchlife For Stanford campus maps, see http://www.stanford.edu/dept/visitorinfo/plan/maps.html Bechtel International Center is about 100 yards west-southwest of Tressider Union. In other good news, a new eaterie called Fraiche just opened at Tressider Union that has vegan soy-based frozen yogurt with fresh fruit and other vegan toppings, like mango, strawberry and coconut shavings. -- Mike Links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnocchi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiramisu http://www.porchlifeproductions.com/ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & q=%22seeing+through+the+fence%
