have a AR volunteer opportunity for a 16 yr old?

Hello all: My next door (Santa Clara) neighbor is a Sr. in High School who tells

me that she needs 20 hours of community work to complete one or her requirements

(for school I think).

 She loves animals but is allergic to furry ones. Does anyone know of an

animal-rights group (other than Humane Society which she has already tried) that

she could investigate to fulfill her requirement and perhaps begin a life-long

activism career?
