Guest guest
Just curious: why so many posts for events in Oakland on a " South Bay " e-mail list? I know people are vegetarian for lots of reasons, but it seems sort of silly to ask people to drive 40+ miles or take 2+ hours of transit to an East Bay event when they could save gas and help build a vegetarian community at home in the South Bay. I apologize if I sound harsh, and I definitely don't mean to be personally insulting - I have the same concern with other posts for SF/East Bay events on other South Bay lists. I just feel like the South Bay needs a lot of help building a real vegetarian community here, not elsewhere. My two cents... - nick (in west san jose) > join us at the First Unitarian Church of > Oakland, 685 14th St. at Castro. Wheelchair accessible. > Compassionate Cooks > P.O. Guest guest
Because Colleen is an awesome resource for the Bay Area and the South Bay shouldn't be denied her classes just because they live outside the East Bay. I have personally attended her book signing and will one day attend one of her classes even though I don't live in the East Bay. Yes, the South Bay does need help but there are those of us in the South Bay who appreciate knowing what else is out there in the greater Bay Area and don't mind going the extra mile if a South Bay resource doesn't exist.
