Guest guest
In case you were not able to attend last Friday's showing of " Eating " at the San Jose Peace and Justice Center (or even if you did attend!), there are some copies of the DVD of this excellent documentary available from Ron Halfhill, local animal welfare activist. They are new DVDs, and Ron has about 20 of them left. They are not the most current version of Eating, and have the animal abuse sections still in them (the latest version has them omitted). Ron will part with them for $5 apiece. Info about the documentary is available at: http://www.vegparadise.com/media1.html http://www.vegparadise.com/news46.html http://www.amazon.com/review/product/0972659021/ http://www.bookch.com/9005.htm Here is Ron's contact info: Ronald Halfhill Verdant Ventures 570 E. This showing, Friday, October 10 at 7 PM is at the San Jose Peace and Justice Center (http://www.sanjosepeace.org) 48 S. 7th St., San Jose. The San Jose chapter of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and Raging Grannies are sponsoring this event. The discussion afterwards will be led by WILPFer and long time vegan Paula Rochelle, who eagerly invites support and participation from the veg community. Many WILPF members are curious about the vegan diet but express concern that it is too difficult or dangerous to follow. Here's your chance to show your stuff! If you doubt the value of this movie, let me try to convince you with this quote from the American Library Association: " A compelling and often shocking look at the standard American diet ... asserts that following federal nutrition guidelines can kill you. " Enough said. Please come and enjoy the show! Paula Rochelle
