Guest guest
Some folks at Sarah's birthday dinner sounded interested in this, so let's see if we can get a group together... Bats of Alpine Pond 08/23/2008 6:15 PM - 8:45 PM (but " Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time. " ) http://www.openspace.org/activities/activity_detail.asp?activity_ID=1037 Join docents Karen DeMello and Jan Hintermeister to learn some facts and dispel some myths about the world's most misunderstood animal: the bat. As the sun goes down, you'll hang out near the Daniels Nature Center to see whether bats appear over Alpine Pond, returning to your car before darkness sets in. Bring binoculars if you have them. (Note: There will be a 0.50-mile walk from the parking area for a brief talk before stopping at the Nature Center for observation.) Where to meet: This Skyline Ridge Preserve activity will meet at the Russian Ridge Preserve parking lot located on the northwest corner of the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection (across Skyline Blvd. on the right). Dinner: If someone would like to join me for an early dinner, we could eat either in Redwood City or near 85, such as Fresh Choice Cupertino.
