Friends in the Bay Area,

The next Vegans for Action meeting will be this Saturday, July 19th at 5:30 pm

in downtown Oakland. We will share a vegan potluck dinner at 5:30 pm, followed

by a special vegan-themed improv class taught by one of our members who is a

long-time student of improvisational acting. Wait! What does improv have to do

with veganism? Improv-style training can help us keep a positive attitude,

connect with people and reduce anxiety when speaking with others about veganism.

And it's a lot of fun! So please join us for this special treat. If you don't

wish to participate in the class, you are welcome to watch. Please see our web

page for full details:

If you would like to be informed of all group events, we suggest you join the

meetup group, located at:

We strongly believe veganism should be accessible to all. African Americans,

Latinas/Latinos, Native Americans, Asians, Asian Americans and all those who

also make up our vibrant community are invited and welcome to all events.

What people have been saying about the meetings:

* " Great way to share ideas and ways to talk to others about the benefits of

being vegan, while meeting new people over some wonderful food. I plan on

attending this every month. "

* " It was just great. Nobody could have done it better. "

* " The potluck was great. So many different and interesting types of

foods and textures to choose from. The talk was good. It was something

for every one to hear no matter what level of veganism/vegetarianism.

It was food for thought and even those who did not speak or comment

much has something to think about long after the meeting was over. " Thank you to

the many people who made the last meeting such a great success! It was wonderful

sharing the evening with so many kind and caring individuals. We look forward to

seeing you on the 19th!
