Subj: Join us for an AWESOME VICTORY PARTY Saturday April 5!

 

 

Hello superstars!

We are SO excited to announce that our victory party for getting this

historic initiative on the ballot will be happening next Saturday, April 5,

from

7-9:30pm at the San Francisco SPCA! Already have plans for that night? We

respectfully request that you change them!

The party will be held in the lobby of Maddie's Center, which will be a

perfect spot for people to get to meet one another, to nosh on yummy food,

drink

great donated wine, and celebrate and be celebrated! There is good parking

there, and it is not far from 16th St. Mission BART (you can also take the 22

bus there from BART). The address is 250 Florida St.www.sfspca.org

Friends and family who didn't gather signatures or weren't involved with the

campaign are welcome!

Requests for your assistance in making this party as fantastic as we all

deserve it to be! Planning a party is a lot less work and a lot more fun if

it's

with others!

1. SETUP/CLEANUP: We will need people to help with setup and cleanup

Saturday --we'll just have an hour (from 6-7) form when the SPCA closes and

when our

party starts(!) to get everything set up, and we'll need to clean up

relatively quickly so that the SPCA staff can close down for the night. Can you

come

early or stay late to help?

2. FOOD: We have a few people who have already offered donations of wine and

food, but we especially need more food. We have agreed that the food should

all be vegan out of respect for the many vegans involved in the campaign as

well as for the cows and chickens (almost all in battery cages!). This event

is not an official potluck, so don't feel obliged to bring anything, but

please do bring food if you'd like to.

Can you bring something? We'll need paper plates, napkins, cups, and

possibly forks, too. I want these all to be compostable so that we don't

produce any

waste from this event. Anyone want to volunteer to buy these? We also had

$200 worth of donations that we were going to spend on a venue but now don't

have to! I'd rather each person who can afford to pitch in a bit, as they feel

comfortable, than take $100 from someone, but I'll contact those folks if

necessary.

Please REPLY with what you'd like to bring so that we don't have 8000 plates

and no food!

3. PLANNING: Anybody like to join in brainstorming and planning out some fun

things for the party? We'd like to have a conference call with those of you

who would like to! If so, REPLY!

4. EXTRAS: Do you have any silent auction items or additional raffle prizes?

It would be great to raise some money for the campaign and give people fun

prizes in exchange! Other thoughts? Anybody with a great iPod and/or speakers

who can play some music for the event?

Thanks so much to everyone who helped in offering suggestions and input on

planning the party thus far! There were a lot of you who made suggestions that

didn't end up panning out, but the accumulation of these suggestions was a

huge help. THANK YOU!

We have SUCH a great team, and we can't wait to celebrate with many of you

on Saturday!
