Guest guest
Please, please, please, become a volunteer with Californians for Humane Farms, ten's of millions of farm animals in California need you... www.humanecalifornia.org Thousands of volunteers throughout California are working hard to get a measure on the Nov '08 ballot to give calves raised for veal, pregnant pigs and egg-laying hens the ability to turn around and stretch their limbs. As many of you may know, these animals are confined in cages and crates so small they can not even turn around or stretch their limbs. We can end this animal cruelty in California... I've been volunteering on this campaign since it began a couple of months ago and I can tell you it so rewarding knowing that I am working towards helping so many animals. It's actually really fun collecting signatures. We have a great group in Santa Clara County, headed by the amazing lauren Ornelas, former Executive Director of Viva!USA. If you're not in Santa Clara County, there are other groups throughout the Bay Area you can collect with (as well as throughout the state.) Here's the website for our region: www.preventcruelty.org We only have about 2 months left to collect the 650,000 signatures that are needed to get on the ballot. Similiar measures have been passed in Oregon, Arizona and Florida. If they can do it, California can too, but we need to pick up the pace, as we are behind. So, we need you... Please, please, please consider doing public signature gathering or at the very least, sign up to collect signatures from your friends, family and co-workers, if you are registered to vote (or can register). If you're not able to register to vote, there are still other ways you can help. Please pass this info on to everyone you know in California. The animals need us... Thank you!
