Guest guest
Thanks Mike. I always thought fortune cookies had eggs/egg whites and so haven't eaten them. Well, I guess I am missing my fortunes..huh.. Moving on to another topic, I never knew that egg whites are used in refining process of some wines(mostly red wines). I kind of enjoy drinking my red wines(before I heard about this from a wine maker). Who would have thought huh? Well, here's the story about it? Wine makers use some binding substance to remove the grape sediments from wine. They call it refining/filtering process. Some of the wine makers use egg whites/sea food products which seem to have good protein, and so acts as a good binding agent. After hearing it, I stopped drinking red wine from wineries who I don't know any information about. I mailed some of them and I knew atleast a few who don't use egg whites. Mostly local wineries... 1. Savannah Channelle 2. Thomas Fogerty 3. La Crema.. Hope this information is helpful. If you happen to know about any other winery which don't use egg whites/sea food, please update the list and send it to this group. It would help all of us....
