Guest guest
I am on the Santa Clara County Animal Advisory Commission, and have spoken with Supervisor Pete McHugh about this issue. Supersivor McHugh is an advocate for animals. He has tried, unsuccessfully to convince the other supervisors to adopt a Trap-Neuter-Return policy but they refuse to accept the evidence. His current proposal is actually an improvement over the previous policy. The current policy does not allow or encourage rescue groups the option of taking any friendly and healthy cats, whereas this new policy does. I agree that this policy is terrible, but please do not blame Supervisor McHugh. He is in the ring fighting as best he can. It is the other Supervisors who need to hear from us. We want to keep Pete in office!! Just call him and talk with him. You'll understand the obstacles he is up against-the other supervisors. www.sccgov.org Find your representative and have a talk with them. Set up a meeting and explain why this policy is not effective, more expensive in the long run, and very inhumane. Nancy practice compassion 3 times a day, go vegetarian.
