Guest guest
Hello, I read about this in the Mercury News, and someone (comm-432731851) posted the following on Craig's list: " Public pressure is needed to prevent a proposal from Supervisor Pete McHugh to trap and kill all feral cats in Santa Clara County from becoming reality. An article detailing his plans was printed in the Mercury News on 9/25/07. An excerpt: " Unless cat lovers can talk them out of it, Santa Clara County supervisors are expected to launch the Great Cat Roundup of 2007 today: All homeless and stray cats on county property would be trapped, removed and most likely killed if a proposal by Supervisor Pete McHugh is approved. " The link to the Mercury News Article is here: http:// www.mercurynews.com/ci_6991854?source=most_emailed You can help by contacting the Santa Clara County Supervisors and telling them to stop this terrible plan: Email Supervisor Pete McHugh at primo.mchugh , call him at (408) 299-5030, or fax him at (408) 298-6637. The trap and kill plan is his idea. Email Supervisor Don Gage at don.gage , call him at (408) 299-5010, call him at (408) 686-8742, fax him at (408) 295-6993, or page him at (408) 681-4609. He is voting in favor of the trap and kill plan, stating liablity concerns: " [He] doesn't want to " seem cruel " but " what if somebody tries to grab a [feral] cat in a county park and it scratches their eyeballs? " You can email other other Supervisors by going to http://svls.lib.ca.us/SVLS/html/ lawmakers/sccounty_sups.html Please, we need your help to stop this terrible plan! Contact the Supervisors and tell them what you think. "
