Guest guest
Hi all! A fine time was had by all Sunday evening at our our potluck. We had lots of wonderful food, including a delicious Indian dish made by Dipti who is hosting the dinner this weekend. You without family obligations are in for a treat! We had lots of interesting conversations, including about sleep & dreams. Fascinating! We also talked about vacations, after I mentioned that I was a travel agent, and several people indicated an interest in a vegetarian cruise, preferably less pricey than the ones offered by Vegetarian Times & McDougall. (I'm not putting them down, not at all, for they do offer extra seminars & classes for your money.) However, for those who just want good vegan/vegetarian food and the company of others who won't be ordering the (gross!) steak & lobster special, I can find lower prices on Celebrity cruise line which of all the cruise lines I've experienced, has the best vegan food. (They even offer an all-vegetarian menu with vegan items starred, and they go out of their way to make you happy.) Ken would have been happy to have spent the whole cruise out on the pool deck eating veggie burgers. :-) This is also the cruise line that " treats you famously " , and in my opinion & experience, the service is better than that on all the other large-ship cruise lines. So, much to my happy surprise, my email yesterday indicated that Celebrity is offering a round-trip cruise out of SF next year! It's on April 20th, and I immediately called to try to grab some group space, but I'm afraid other agencies beat me to it. However, I did price some cabins, but I need names (and deposit in a few days) to hold a cabin for you. I also checked some other Celebrity options. I may be able to get group space on one or more of those, but I'd need to see interest from at least 8 people. So, here goes. (Note: prices are not guaranteed until booked and are per person based on two per cabin. If you're single and can't get a roommate, I can try to match you up with another single of the same gender. Also, all prices include port fees & taxes, but not airfare or transfers.) Inside cabins have no windows; that's why they're cheaper. And balcony cabins have a sliding glass door leading to your own private balcony, something a bit more ideal for tropical cruises than for those heading north --- though for the trans-atlantic one, it could be nice for the warmer parts of those long, lazy days at sea. And speaking of the trans-atlantic, I would recommend it for experienced cruisers who know they like the cruising experience and who aren't motion sensitive. (If you are motion-sensitive, I am too and am more than happy to offer you all sorts of options to help keep seasickness at bay ... so to speak. :-) ) Also, as you may have noticed, on some of these cruises, we gray-hairs get a bargain, a senior rate if one occupant of the cabin is 55 or older. For those under 55, why not invite your mother or father to join you? He or she would probably be thrilled to be asked. I chose cruises (and dates) with a great price or a great itinerary or both. Any of them would be great for a group. If you do want to go with a veggie group, please give me your #1 - #5 choices. I'll try my best to make everyone happy. And, please let me know your legal name and that of your cabin partner, if any. Your daytime phone number would also be helpful in case I need to reach you quickly. Oh, and of course I'd need your ages to know if you qualify for the discount. Thanks! And looking forward to hearing back from you!
