Following are events on the calendar for the coming months: Sunday, August 20: " The Caucasian Chalk Circle " matinee theatre Performance in Palo Alto (talkback with cast following). Starring fifteen local actors, including me! Host: Mike Goldberger. Tuesday, August 22: TheatreWorks free dress rehearsal in Mountain View. Show: M. Butterfly. Host: Mike Goldberger (or me if he can't do it. Mike, let me know.) Saturday, September 16: Dinner Out (we are switching from the first Saturday to the third Saturday of the month for dinner out due to the Labor Day holiday weekend). Hosts: Doris Sarni & Sarah Kishler. Location TBD. Tuesday, October 3: TheatreWorks free dress rehearsal in Mountain View. Show: Dessa Rose. Host: Mike Goldberger. Sunday, October 15: Afternoon book discussion: " The Way We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter " by Peter Singer & Jim Mason. Location TBD. I'll send out more information about this book and the planned discussion within the next few days. Host: Sarah Kishler. Saturday, October 21: Dinner Out (again, on the third Saturday of the month due to host availability). Sweet Tomatoes in Sunnyvale. Hosts: Ken & Diane Saturday, November 4: Dinner Out (back on the 1st Saturday of the Month). Kokila's Kitchen in Cupertino. Host: Nisha (please confirm! thanks for volunteering) Saturday, November 18: Pre-Thanksgiving " holiday survival " potluck. Host: Dianne Hall. Tuesday, November 28: TheatreWorks Free Dress Rehearsal in Palo Alto. " The Learned Ladies of Park Avenue. " Host: Mike Goldberger. Sunday, December 17: Potluck. Hosts: Ken & Diane There you have it! Of course, these don't have to be the only SBVS activities in the coming months. Members are encouraged to host impromptu events whenever the spirit should move them.
