Guest guest
Hi all, While driving towards the golden gate bridge last week, taking 101 to Van Ness and then turning left on Lombard (which leads to the bridge), I caught a glimpse of " Alive! " a new vegetarian (really vegan, and mostly raw except for some hot soups) restaurant. I stopped at it on my way back to SJ, and it was really good. I had the ravioli, which was made with beets filled with some kind of macadamia nut paste, and a hot soup (not raw), which had yam and medicinal (Chinese) properties. It's a small place, but the food did indeed rock. I highly recommend it. Prices were about $8 for the soup and about $16 for the ravioli entree. I had a chocolate mousse desert which was vegan and had some berries in the recipe, too. That was about $5 I think. Their website is www.aliveveggie.com and they're at 1972 Lombard St. Phone is 415-923-1052. Their motto is " Vibrant food for the body and soul " . Just thought I'd share. Cheers, Michael g.
