Guest guest
they're putting on a (premiere) show!... the west coast premiere of the musical version of Harold & Maude at the Lucy Stern theater in Palo Alto (one-two blocks in on Middlefield from Embarcadero) requires people to view it for free (dress rehearsal performance) at 7:30 (get there by) for the show at 8:00. Look for me in line, I'll be wearing a purple polo style shirt. Here's what the theatreworks.org website had to say about the production: From the author of The Fantasticks comes another offbeat and altogether charming musical full of life, death, love, and laughter. Based on the 1971 cult film shot here on the Peninsula, this wacky black comedy captures the sweet but unconventional relationship between a sedate and self-destructive teen named Harold and a vivaciously original octogenarian named Maude as they set about to defy a world gone mad. A quirky love story for anyone even remotely eccentric, this is one life-affirming musical gem. " Humor, genuine musical wit, and lots of charm! " - New York Daily News RSVPs welcome. Warm regards, Michael
