Hi, everyone! For anyone who's a r to the New York Times, there's a

great article by William Safire in the latest New York Times magazine about the

origins of the word, " vegan " . The article describes the coining of this word in

1944 by an Englishman named Donald Watson, who's still around today at the ripe

old age of 94!
